⚠️ Dangerous Dogs – Owner Responsibility and the Law ⚠️
Following an increasing number of calls to the police in relation to incidents involving dogs, the Nedge Safer Neighbourhood Team would like to remind dog owners of their legal responsibilities in keeping both their animals and members of the public safe.
Under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, it is a criminal offence for a dog to be dangerously out of control in any place, including public areas, private property, and the owner’s own home or garden.
A dog is deemed dangerously out of control if it:

Failure to comply with the law may result in prosecution, the seizure of the animal, and potential destruction orders.
